During that time I never even had an internet connection in my household there was no way for me to get influenced to belive he had an monocle. A majority of people confidently remembered how Forrest Gump's mama always said, “Life is like a box of chocolates.” Well, the line was actually, “Life was like a box of chocolates”, which is different from what most people believed. I was never born during that period of time and you might be like oh the internet. When in reality she said, “Magic Mirror on the wall who’s the fairest of them all?”. This is even more confounded by the fact ME as a concept didnt exist then. I think its because people associate Mr Monopoly with wearing a suit and top hat. If the Monopoly man never had a monocle, then the Daily Show crew would need to create a monocle Monopoly Man for this joke, but then the joke wouldnt make sense as the Monopoly Man never had a monocle. ![]() For me the Monopoly guy always had a monocle. People falsely recall the Evil Queen from Snow White saying, “Mirror Mirror on the wall who’s the fairest of them all?”. I was talking with a friend about the Mandela Effect, and he told me that his first ME ever was the Monopoly guy who does not have any monocle at all, and now I cannot unsee it. Soon, many other examples starting emerging all over the internet. Fiona Broome popularized this phenomenon appropriately naming it the “Mandela Effect” (after Nelson Mandela).
